I have organized and facilitated conferences for thirty years. I create Conferences That Work - "structured unconference" conferences that adapt to participants' needs, and that include opportunities for personal and group reflection and development.

My book "Conferences That Work: Creating Events That People Love" was published in November 2009.

My next book will be about participative techniques for conference sessions.

I am a former elementary particle physicist, information technology consultant, professor of computer science, and co-owner of a solar manufacturing company. I live with my wife Celia in Marlboro, Vermont, am active in the non-profit world, and love to sing and dance.

"OK, it's the week of the event. I'm excited! Let's share our ideas for the Open Space sessions. I would be happy to lead two - one about the heart of my book "Conferences That Work" and one about how to end conferences MEANINGFULLY."

"Is there some way we can see the sessions that people offered when registering? In my experience it's useful to share this information in advance, when available."
